Needed this!

I just started working with a nephrologist who has high expectations of his nurses. I decided to start studying. Wasn't sure if this book would be the right kind, but it is excellent! Takes you from the basics of anatomy and physiology, explains labs and goes on into the various disease states. I am working through it slowly, but it has already helped me when talking to patients.

This Handbook of Chronic Kidney Disease Management edited by Dr. John Daugirdas is a most timely and a very well written book. All the contributors are internationally renowned experts in their respective fields. This book is of importance because it is well known that a proper management of chronic renal disease (pre-end stage renal disease) patients will enable them to fare much better when they become end-stage renal disease patients requiring dialysis or kidney transplantation on a later date.
